AMAVUBI head coach Branko Tucak dropped Bokota Labama (APR), Hussein Sibomana (Mukura), Daddy Birori (Atraco) and Donatien Tuyizere (Atraco) as the team departed for Algeria yesterday evening.

The national team which arrives in Algeria this afternoon will play their crunch 2010 Africa Nations Cup (CAN) qualifier this Sunday in Blida.

According to Amavubi assistant coach Eric Nshimiyimana, the team’s early departure is aimed at helping the players acclimatize to the North African weather.

Nshimiyimana also said that Bokota was dropped because he had failed to shake off an ankle injury while Tuyizere, Birori and Sibomana failed the fitness test.

The quadruplet joins Mbuyu Twite and Olivier Karekezi, who will miss the crucial World Cup qualifierMbuyu, who also sat out Egypt’s return leg victory over Amavubi due to suspension, was overlooked while Karekezi faces four-weeks on the sidelines after under-going thigh surgery two weeks ago.

Algeria has 10 points from four games, three more than Egypt. Zambia has four points, and Rwanda is last with one.

Only the top team in each of the continent’s five qualifying groups will play in South Africa next year.
