Karega encourages support for local enterprises
BY JOHN GAHAMANYI

Vincent Karega, the minister of state in charge of industry and investment promotion, has urged Rwandans to support local enterprises.

Karega, who was touring a newly constructed factory and other projects of Urwibutso Enterprises on January 23, said that support is needed in the form of suggestions and ideas.

“We want all citizens in their respective capacities to identify ways in which these enterprises can be supported in order to produce quality products and create more employment opportunities,” he said.

He added that more cooperatives ought to be formed because, once developed, they could guarantee a cheap and steady supply of raw materials.

Sina Gérard, Urwibutso Enterprises’ proprietor, said that the minister’s visit gave confidence to entrepreneurs because it proves that their efforts are not only recognised by the clients but also by government.
