Gorilla FC has released five players as part of an extensive squad overhaul ahead of the upcoming season.

The club confirmed the departures of Sally Yipon, Patrick Manzi, Gad Muhawenayo, Serge Ntagisanayo, and Ikena Merci Duru, all of whom mutually agreed to part ways with the Gorilla FC.

Their exits follow earlier departures, with Didier Nshuti joining Rayon Sports, while Malian striker Khalifa Traoré completed a transfer to Kenya’s Police FC.

To strengthen its back line, Gorilla FC has signed Ghanaian defender Issah Yakubu on a two-year deal. Yakubu joins from Police FC and is expected to add experience and stability to the defence.

The team has also reinforced its attack, securing Nigerian forward Sunday Inemesit Akang from AS Kigali as his replacement.

Elsewhere, Kiyovu Sports is reported to have reached an agreement with former Rutsiro FC striker Jonas Mumbele, boosting its attacking options ahead of the new season campaign.

At Rayon Sports, left-back Elie Ganijuru has reportedly agreed to extend his stay with the club for another two years. The club is also said to be targeting Gasogi United captain Muderi Akbar, 21, as a potential midfield addition.

Rayon Sports has also already extended the contract of right-back Emmanuel Nshimiyimana, while captain Youssou Diagne is also expected to renew.

Meanwhile, midfielder Pascal Iradukunda, whose contract with Rayon Sports has expired, is reportedly considering a move to Mukura VS in search of regular playing time.
